Interpreting CultureMatch and CultureAdd

♦  CultureMatch  ♦

CultureMatch shows how closely a candidate aligns with your existing culture.

Best practice: Higher CultureMatch scores indicate stronger alignment. As a general guideline, scores of 60% or greater are considered a strong match to your organization’s culture.

When to prioritize it:

  • When maintaining a strong, established culture is important
  • When new hires need to integrate quickly
  • When consistency across teams is a priority

♦  CultureAdd  ♦

CultureAdd highlights where a candidate brings differences that can strengthen your organization.

Best practice: Candidates with notable CultureAdd may introduce new perspectives, values, or ways of thinking that complement your existing culture.

When to prioritize it:

  • When encouraging innovation or new ideas
  • When evolving or strengthening your culture
  • When building more diverse and balanced teams

The strongest hiring decisions consider both. Balance CultureMatch (alignment) with CultureAdd (growth) to build teams that are both cohesive and adaptable.
